About Invisalign in Pine City, Lindstrom, & Cambridge

Invisalign® treatment with Dr. Sievers, Dr. Van Vooren, and our talented team at Embrace Orthodontics can give you straight, beautiful and healthy teeth without braces, brackets, or wires.

The Invisalign Process

Clear appliances (like Invisalign® clear aligners) use a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners to straighten your teeth. And, no one can tell you are wearing those aligners because they are invisible!

Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are less of a hassle. The aligners are comfortable and have no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.

Invisalign treatment is a technique that straightens your teeth without braces, using a series of clear, removable aligners that are custom-modeled to fit your teeth. These virtually invisible aligners gradually reposition your teeth into a smile of which you will be proud. Maintaining a good oral hygiene program will also reduce the chances of plaque buildup, tooth decay and periodontal disease.

Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign has no metal bands or wires to trap food and plaque.

Invisalign is much more comfortable than traditional metal bracket braces and can still give you stunning results.

At your initial consultation at Embrace Orthodontics, we'll use high-tech digital scans and X-rays to create a 3D image of your mouth. We make your first set of custom-fitted aligners from these images, and then you begin the process of straightening your teeth.

Barring extreme cases, you’ll likely wear your Invisalign aligners for 9–15 months, and will typically use 18–30 sets throughout the course of your treatment.

You wear the trays for about 22 hours a day but can take them out to brush your teeth and eat.

Based on your individual needs, and the treatment plan put in place by Dr. Sievers and Dr. Van Vooren, you’ll wear several sets of trays throughout your orthodontic treatment. You’ll even start to notice a change in just a few months!

Differences Between Invisalign & Braces

Unlike traditional braces, smooth plastic Invisalign aligners don't have metal components that can irritate your mouth. Because they’re removed when you eat, you won't have to watch what you eat like you would when wearing braces—bring on the popcorn and peanuts.

In fact, the aligners must be removed for eating and for drinking anything other than water. You need to make sure you’re willing to do that before you decide on Invisalign clear braces. To prevent staining, you’ll need to clean your teeth before putting the aligners back on after each time you eat.

Of course, brushing and flossing are much easier than with traditional braces, since you don’t have to work around any brackets and wires.

A Modern Approach to Braces

Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth. It uses a custom-made series of aligners custom-created for you and only you. These clear aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible plastic that fits snugly but painlessly over your teeth, exerting force to gradually shift your teeth over time.

Wearing the aligners will gently move your teeth into place little by little, based on the exact movements Dr. Sievers and Dr. Van Vooren plan for you to minimize both treatment duration and soreness without compromising effectiveness.

With Invisalign treatment at Embrace Orthodontics, there are no metal brackets to attach or no wires to tighten.

You just pop in a new set of aligners every two weeks or so until your treatment is complete.

At Embrace Orthodontics, you’ll get a great smile without a treatment that gets in the way of your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth.

This nearly-invisible option to straighten your teeth is truly changing the way people see orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Sievers and Dr. Van Vooren have a lot of experience treating patients with Invisalign, and we’re excited to offer this technology to our patients in Cambridge, Lindstrom, and Pine City.

Talk to Us About Invisalign

As recommended by Dr. Sievers and Dr. Van Vooren, it’s important to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours each day so they can do their job and straighten your teeth. However, Invisalign makes removing your aligners for special occasions easy.

As with traditional braces, you’ll generally need to wear a nighttime retainer after Invisalign treatment to maintain your new alignment—and your confident new smile.

Dr. Sievers and Dr. Van Vooren may not recommend Invisalign for some more complex alignment or bite issues, or for those who have bridgework; our doctors can advise you about what options are best for you.
